Hello. Two of my nephews have Birthdays coming up, they are both the same age and will be turning into ten year old tweens this year. Cards for tween boys can be tricky, don't want the card to be too cute but not too grown up either. I used a card layout from CASE This Sketch for this card to help me get some inspiration.
Method:
1. Mask off stripes on black cardstock cut to 4.25 x 5.5". I used some thin masking tape and worked on a craft mat with a grid printed on it to help me place the stripes straight.
2. Sponge on Distress Oxide Ink. I used three colours.
3. Splatter with white paint.
4. Remove tape and use a ruler to draw a stripe with a white gel pen.
5. Stamp and colour planets (from Lawn Fawn set Out Of This World) with Copic Markers.
6. Fussy cut planets and color cut edge with black marker (I find this makes the edge look cleaner).
7. Stamp and heat emboss sentiment.
8. Adhere black cardstock to cardbase then adhere planets and sentiment to card. Some of the planets and the sentiment I adhered with foam tape.
9. Embellish with black Nuvo Drops.
I am also entering this card in the Lawnfawnatics challenge, "Cards For Kids".
