Ombre Embossing Paste

Hey guys.  Working my way through my homework for the Altenew Educator program.  This is homework that I actually have not procrastinated in doing.  This card is for the Celebration Stencil Techniques taught by Laurel Beard.

I tinted white embossing paste using three different shades of aqua ink from Altenew.  I then applied it to pool coloured cardstock using a stencil, starting with the darkest embossing paste at the top, medium and then lightest at the bottom.  I stamped the flower using the same aqua inks and fussy cut it.  Thank you for stopping by.

Your Kindness

This month at A Blog Named Hero we are collaborating with Wow!.
Image may contain: text

For my card I used the "Peacock Feathers Stencil" from Hero Arts and pretty purple "Fab Foil" from Wow!.  To create my background I smooshed Distress Ink on my craft mat spritzed it with water and smooshed water colour card stock in the ink.  I dried between layers of ink with my Hero Arts heat gun and applied more ink until I was happy with the colors.

I used Deco Foil transfer gel applied with through the stencil on the background with a palette knife.

This card was my second attempt.  With my first attempt I applied a thicker layer of transfer gel, I also didn't wait long enough for it to dry.  The gel is dry when it turns clear, but if left to dry to long it won't be sticky enough for the foil to adhere to it.  It is very humid where I live so I needed to wait about two hours for the gel to dry.  When the gel is dry I used a laminator to adhere the foil.  This technique turns out like I used shiny embossing paste, I can see some of the lumps and bumps in the gel which adds texture to the card.

I embossed the sentiment from Hero Arts set ""You Are Loved Messages" with white Hero Arts embossing powder.  I finished my card off with some Studio Katia sequins and Stickles.
Thank you for stopping by, I hope you join this months challenge at A Blog Named Hero.

Thank You Card

It's fun using Distress Oxide Inks on dark cardstock.  For this card I used stencil brushes to apply pink, green and purple Distress Oxide Ink through a stencil to navy card stock.  I made this card using the card layout from Cas(E) This Sketch.

Thanks for stopping by.
