Christmas in July Tag

Always a good idea to add to the Christmas card and tag stash when inspiration is available.  Challenge # 92 at Tag You're It! is themed "Christmas In July"

For this challenge I used some pretty stamps and dies from W plus 9 to create a shaker card .  I realized after I assembled it the candle image didn't look quite right because I missed one of the layer stamps for the flame.  But I think this shaker tag turned out very pretty.

Thanks for stopping by, please share your Christmas themed tag at the current challenge.

Tag You're It #76

Hello!  The challenge inspiration for Tag You're It #76 is a beautiful holiday tag by Emily Midgett.

I was inspired by her colour scheme and tag design.  I went with gold and purple for my tag.  I heat embossed the bear, the sentiment and some of the stars with gold embossing powder.  I diecut the starry background adhered it to a card base then adhered the tag using foam adhesive.  I glued Some of the stars from the diecut background on the tag.  I wanted to keep this card masculine, I'm always short on masculine cards in my stash.
Thanks for coming by I hope you are inspired to create a tag for Tag You're It!  Challenge #76.

Tag You're it #66

It's time for a new challenge at Tag You're It!  Our inspiration is a pretty cheerful floral tag by our featured artist, Maureen Merritt.  Spring seems to be here already, I planted some flower seeds in my garden.  I'm hoping the rabbit that ate my garden last year doesn't find the flowers I planted this year as tasty.
I like it when a challenge gives me an opportunity to pull out and use a stamp set that I haven't used in a while.  For my Tag I used stamps and dies from Papertrey Ink (Mini Blooms).  I also added some black dots with Nuvo drops.
I hope you join us for challenge #66 at Tag You're It!  Please explain how the challenge inspired you.
Thanks for stopping by.

Panda Valentine Tag

Hello.  I am sharing a tag made with inspiration from the Tag You're It! challenge #65, featuring an adorable tag made by Lisa Arana.

I was inspired by Lisa's tag to make Valentine tags for my kids.  This was a cute and quick tag to make.  I used stamps and dies from Mama Elephant.  I colored the little panda with Copic markers.  The floating hearts where die cut from red card stock, after adhering them to the tag I added Glossy Accents to them and the heart on the panda's envelope.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope to see your tags linked up to the challenge at Tag You're It!

Hello Pumpkin Spice

The inspiration for Tag You're It! Challenge #67 is a pretty tag made by Lynn Putt.  I was inspired by the texture on the foam of Lynn's coffee die cut, all the details and layers of her tag and obviously the coffee theme.  I used Right at Home stamps for my tag.  I stamped and embossed the mug and pumpkin with sparkly gold embossing powder on water colour card stock before using water colours to colour the image.  The foam on my tag was created by using Liquid Applique.  I don't go out for coffee often but in the fall I make sure to have at least one pumpkin spice latte.

I am also sharing my tag at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Anything Goes".

Thank you for stopping by I hope you are inspired to join Tag You're It! challenge #67.

Stinkin' Cute

Hello!  I made this card with inspiration from the Tag You're It! Challenge.  Karin Akesdotter provided us with adorable inspiration for the first Tag You're It! challenge of 2017.

I wanted to make a Valentine card for one of my kids and thought the colors would be great for one of my sons.  I used a little stamp set from Lawn Fawn and Dies from My Favorite Things for my card.  For the background I sponged distress ink on Bristol card stock than applied embossing paste through a stencil.  I water colored the little skunk using Zig Real Brush Pens.
I hope you join us at Tag You're It! Challenge #63, and when you do please explain how your work was inspired by the challenge.

Thank you for stopping by.

Holiday Cheer Tag

Hello!  I made this festive tag for challenge #62 at Tag You're It!  Our inspiration is a fabulous tag made by Laurie Willison.  I was inspired by the stripes, die cut sentiment, shape and layout of her tag.

For my tag I cut a piece of red cardstock in a square shape used a punch to round the corners and stamped it with matching ink and a striped background stamp (Impression Obsession).  I diecut the sentiment (Papersmooches) several times and adhered the die cuts together to make it thicker.  I stamped and embossed the snowflakes (Papersmooches).  After adhering the sentiment I added glitter to it with a clear Jelly Roll Pen than some shine with Glossy Accents.
I am also sharing this tag at the Papersmooches challenge.

I hope you join the current challenge at Tag You're It!, and when you do please explain how your tag was inspired by our challenge.

Tag You're It! #60

Hello!  Challenge #60 at Tag You're It! is inspired by a beautiful fall tag by Diane Jaquay.

I love the glitter, and layers of Diane Jaquay's tag.  I went with a fall theme for my tag.  To create the background I diecut bristol cardstock into a tag shape (Papertrey Ink) than sponged on two shades of blue Distress Ink.  When the ink was dry I used a stencil (Falling Snow from Simon says stamp) to apply white and glitter embossing paste (Wendy Vecchi and Nuvo Glimmer Paste).  I stamped the sentiment (Hero Arts)  on a small die cut tag (Simon Says Stamp).  The bow is a stamped and embossed diecut (Hero Arts).
I am also sharing this tag at the Hero Arts Holiday Cardmaking Challenge.

Tag You're It #58

Hello!  Time for a new challenge at Tag You're It!  Leigh Penner is the featured artist for challenge #58.  I love the colors she used for her tag!

On my tag I used Distress Inks for my stamping.  I blended the colors on the leaves using a water brush then painted some grey Distress Ink around the leaves.  Once the ink was dry I die cut the tag and embossed the sentiment.
The diecut tag is how I created a focal point on my card.  I am sharing this card at Virginia's View Challenge as well.

I hope you join us for challenge #58 at Tag You're It!

Tag You're It! #57

Hello!  The Tag You're It! challenge #57 inspiration is a great coffee themed tag made by Richard Breaks.  Richard Breaks's tag and a bag of coffee would make a great host gift!  I was inspired to make a Christmas version of his tag.

I used Waffle Flower stamps and Dies and Lawn Fawn Patterned paper on my project.  I think I have a bit of Copic Marker anxiety.  It's silly but when I use my markers I get a little anxious about how my work is going to turn out.   I'm not sure why I find Copics intimidating!  I have to remind myself not to squeeze my markers too hard!
I added some shine to my tag by using Glossy Accents on the candy canes, Spectrum Noir Glitter Pen on the cup and gold embossing the sentiment.
I am also joining the ABC Christmas Challenge "T is for Two"  my tag has two candy canes.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope to see you join in the Tag You're It! challenge.

Tag You're It! #56

Hello!  Time for Challenge #56 at Tag You're It!  The trendy tag for TYIC #56 was made by the guest featured artist, Taheerah Achita.

I used water color cardstock for my tag, adding color to the bottom with a Zig Real Brush Pen and spread the color with a water color brush and water.  I used the Thanks die from Altenew that I have used for a few projects lately for the sentiment.  I diecut three "thanks"  glued them together than added a couple layers of clear embossing powder to the top for some shine. The pool background dry embossed with an embossing folder. I sprinkled some gold mist on my project for some more shine.

I am also sharing this project at the Altenew Ultimate Challenge Blog Hop.

The Ultimate Challenge Blg Hop With Altenew

Hello!  Tag You're It! is participating in the Altenew Ultimate Challenge Blog Hop, there are lots of prizes to be won.  For more details go to Tag You're It. (click here).
My first step in making this card was going through all of the previous Tag You're It! inspiration photos on our Pinterest board.  The tags that inspired me this time were created by Virginia Lu for the Tag You're It! Challenge #1.

I knew that I wanted to use fall colors and make a thank you card, Virginia's design inspired my card desgin. After finding inspiration I roughly sketched out my card design.  I than selected stamps and a die from my Altenew collection that would help me achieve my design.  I wanted to use fall colors and  a deep rich purple in particular, so to select two other colors I googled color combinations.

I used the tag as the main focal point of my card.  I stamped and embossed the leaves than added color by water coloring.  I had used my Misti to stamp the tag and it worked well for being able to line up the images on the background.
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the hop.  Please click here to return to the hop.
Stamps used:  Altenew "Freegform Greenery"
Die: Altenew "Thanks Die"

Tag You're It! Challenge 53

Hello!  The Tag You're It!  Challenge  #53 features a beautiful tag by Michele Ferguson.

I was inspired by her color choices and embossed polka dots.  I used a technique taught in the Tim Holtz Online Card Class, Creative Chemistry 103.  I used alcohol ink and Yupo paper to create my tag.  I embossed the tag with a polka dot embossing folder than removed the ink from the dots with a method Tim Holtz taught in class.

Tag You're It! #50

Hello!  I am excited to be sharing may tag made for the Tag You're It! Challenge #50 inspiration.  I had a lot of fun making this tag.  The technique I used was shared by Jennifer McGuire a few months a go.
1.  Emboss stamped image in white on a die cut tag. (I used a fairly smooth water color card stock for my tag).
2.  Cover tag with Distress Ink by rubbing the ink pad directly on the card stock.
3.  When Distress Ink is dry use a slightly wet paintbrush to remove ink from embossed image.
I also used small pieces of paper towel to dab away some of the ink after wetting it.
4.  Paint the areas that ink was lightened/ removed with Distress Ink or leave it (I did not add more color to the flower petals).

I added some Wink of Stella to the image at the end to add some sparkle, just be careful to dab it on it will activate the Distress Ink.

I hope you find this  inspiring and share your work at the Tag You're It! challenge.

Tag You're It! #49

Hello.  The card I am posting today was inspired by my team mates, Anja Curvers, beautiful card for the Tag You're It! challenge.

I used stamps from Concord & 9th's set "Hugs Stamp Set".  I stamped the sentiment from the set, "Consider yourself Freshly Squeezed" on the inside.  I colored the oranges with Copic Markers than made them glisten with a Spectrum Noir glitter pen.  I fussy cut the oranges and adhered them to a tag I added color to using water and Distress Ink.

Tag You're It #48

Hello!  Welcome to challenge #48 at Tag You're It!.  The inspiration is a striking CAS tag by Bobby Hagan.  I was inspired by the crisp colors she used and the stars around the flags.

I used a stencil and embossing paste I tinted with distress ink to create the stars in the back ground.  The star stamps are from a stamp set I received in a Papertrey Ink grab bag.  My red ink pad is supper juicy and I was having troubles stamping the star with the sentiment, the red ink kept filling in the "t".  To remove some ink from the sentiment I used the tip of a pin.

Thanks for coming by, I'm looking forward to seeing what you create in the Tag You're It! link up.
