Simple Father's Day Card

Hello!  I love stamping and this card was simple to make with a stamped background.  I stamped the mushrooms.  I then used the back of some clear stamps for the circles of colors.  I went through some of my clear stamp sets to find the shapes I wanted then stuck the stamps upside down on acrylic blocks to stamp the colored blobs/circles.  The sentiment was stamped with Black Versafine ink on velum then heat embossed using clear embossing powder.  I folded the ends of the velum strip around the card stock and taped it on the back.  I adhered the front panel to a black layer of cardstock with a piece of fun foam in between for dimension.  This is a simple card I'm using for fathers day as it is also great for mailing.

I hope you share your work at A Blog Named Hero's Summertime Fun Challenge.

Out of this World Birthday

Something relaxing to me about swirling around watercolors to create a galaxy background. But I don't think it looks like much until I add the white splatter for the stars.  While the background was drying I colored the planets and rocket with Copics.  I fussy cut the colored images out.  I adhered the planets to background.  The rocket has a piece of clear thread taped to it.  The black diecut panel has a piece of diecut foam adhered to it.  I adhered the ends of the thread for the rocket in between the foam and black cardstock so the rocket moves a bit when the card is shaken.  I forgot to emboss the sentiment on the front of the card until after I stuck it all together.  I tried to heat emboss the sentiment in white on the front but it was a mess.  So I ended up adding the sentiment on a white strip of cardstock (which covered my failed embossing attempt). I finished my card off with dash lines using a white gel pen and some clear Nuvo Drops on the rockets window.

I used Lawn Fawns "Puffy Stars" dies and "Out Of This World" stamps for this card.  I am sharing this card at Lawn Fawnatics.

Have a great weekend.

Father's Day Watercoloured Card

With Father's day approaching I need to work on some masculine cards, a genre I find challenging.  I enjoy ink smooshing so this card was fun.  I used to different shades of Distress Ink.  I smoosh the ink pad one color at a time on my ink pad.  I spritz the ink with water making it bead then tapped the watercolour cardstock into the ink.  I dry in between layers of ink, adding more colour until I like the results.  Once it was dry I stamped the waves with Distress ink then stamped and embossed the little boat.

I applied some ink through a wave stencil to a card a base and finished the card off with some dots of Nuvo Drops.

Tropical Foliage Birthday Card

The current challenge at A Blog Named Hero is "Watercolor".  I think watercoloring is my favorite way to add color to a card.  For my card I spritzed water on a card base with a mister than sprinkled on Lime Green Colorburst Powder.  I used my heat tool to dry in between adding layers of color.   I then heat embossed the leaf background with clear embossing powder.  For the next layers of color I used a small amount of Turqoise Colorburst and Cobalt Blue Colorburst.  Once the color was dry I ironed off the clear embossing powder.

I placed a clean piece of printer paper over top then used a dry iron to heat the embossing powder.  The paper absorbs the embossing powder.  If I wanted the leaves to be shiny I would not remove the clear embossing powder.

I finished off the card with some gold thread and the sentiment which is heat embossed in white.  I added some dimension with fun foam between the front layer and the green layer.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope to see your watercoloring in the challenge at A Blog Named Hero.

Eat Cake Tween Card

Hello.  I always can use more masculine tween cards.  I made this card with some fun Waffle Flower stamps coloured with Copic Markers.  I masked the stamped images and added some Distress Ink with a sponge applicator, sprinkled on some water and added some Nuvo Drops.

Sharing this card at three challenges: Case This Sketch and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (Anything Goes).  Also sharing this card at Kathy Racoosin's 30 Day Color Challenge.
