Best Wishes Sparkle Watercolor

A few days left in the Sparkle Challenge at A Blog Named Hero.
ChallengeSparkle
I embossed the floral background using Hero Arts gold embossing powder.  The background stamp I used is retired but the Flowers For Coloring background stamp would be fun for this too.
I used a glitter Spectrum Noir pen to add watercolors to the flowers and leaves.  The photo doesn't show but the glitter on the card is very pretty. I then water colored with black around the images.

I hope you join in on our sparkle challenge.

Three Thank You Cards

I am in need of a bunch of Thank You cards and I had none in my stash.  The theme at A Blog Named Hero is "Stretch Your Stamps" and it is perfect for creating multiple cards.

I used the "Kaleidoscope Floral Cling" for these cards.  I positioned it in my stamp press so it was easy to stamp and heat emboss the image three times.

On this card I stamped on watercolor paper and used Nuvo Shimmer powders sprayed with water.  Once dry I used an x-acto knife to cut out the image.  Next to pop up the image I adhered fun foam behind the image.

This card I used craft colored paper and colored in the image with pencil crayons.

On the third  card I did some ink blending of three shades of Distress Oxide inks.  I splattered with water.  I highlighted parts of the image by painting areas with water and removing the ink with paper towel.  Finally I added some subtle glitter with Wink of Stella on part of the image.

Thanks for stopping by I hope you are inspired to join our challenge at A Blog Named Hero.

Festive Thank You

This card was made with definately non traditional Christmas colors.  I googled images with pears and poinsettias for some inspiration.  The color combo of Pale Tomato, Pool and Butter Bar was introduced to me in an online card class taught by Debbie Hughes a few years ago and I really like this combo.  I used a stencil brush to add the yellow ink through a stencil to white cardstock going heavier on the outside edges and applying the ink lighter towards the center.  I then randomly stamped the images.  For the blue layer I applied the pool ink pad directly to white cardstock.  The sentiment is heat embossed in gold and I used the stencil brush around the edges of the banner.

For some dimension I adhered the stenciled piece to the blue with a layer of fun foam in between.  I also added dimension to the sentiment banner by using foam tape to adhere it.  The card was finished off with some gold sprakle Stickles and sequins.  Thank you cards are used by me the most and I always can use more.  Add your card stash and join the challenge at A Blog Named Hero.

Fall Birthday Wishes

The October Watercolour Challenge at Happy Little Stampers is Anything Goes with a optional twist; gold.  I got out some fall shades of watercolor for this card.  I started out by using painters tapeto tape down a piece of watercolor card to a wooden cutting board.  I did this because I was planning to use the wet on wet technique and wanted to minimize the paper warping.  I added orange, red purple and yellow Peerless Watercolors.  Peerless watercolors are vivid translucent paints that come on dry sheets.  I found the background a bit too colorful it was a bit garish.   So I embossed the leaves and sentiment on velum to soften the card.

Our winner for this challenge will receive a $20 coupon to spend at the shop! Check out all the details HERE.

IF YOU USE STAMPS BY HAPPY LITTLE STAMPERS AND YOU ARE OUR RANDOM WINNER, YOUR PRIZE WILL BE DOUBLED!
