Shimmery Snowflakes

Hello!  I'm here today with a shimmery sparkley Christmas card.  To make this I diecut watercolor card stock then embossed the snow flakes from Casual Fridays Stamps set "Bring On the Snowflakes" using candy cane embossing powder from WOW!.  I then watercolored using "Velveteen Green" Vibeez from Shimmerz.  Once the green was dry I splattered on "Crimson Tide" and "Good as Gold" from Shimmerz.

I stamped on the sentiment (Casual Fridays "Christmas Sparkle")  then added "Sparkling Crystals" from Studio Katia.

Chibitronics and CAS-ual Fridays Blog Hop

Hello, today is the first day of the collaborative blog hop for CAS-ual Fridasy and Chibitronics. If you are hopping along you should have arrived here from Nora Noll's blog. The pretty snowflakes and sentiment from CAS-Friday and lights from Chibitronics make a fun winter card.    To make my card I started by colouring translucent Yupo paper with alcohol inks.  I stamped the snowflakes from CAS-ual Friday's stamp set "Bring on the Snowflakes" with black ink on white card stock that was not heavy weight as I wanted the lights to shine through it brightly.    I placed a piece of paper on top of the stamped snowflakes and marked where I wanted to place my lights.  Then I built my circuit.

 

I adhered the Yupo paper on top of the stamped snowflake card stock to create the card front. I adhered the paper with the circuit to a card then adhered the card front to the circuit with two layers of foam tape.  When the recipient presses on the sentiment the lights shine through the Yupo paper and show the snowflakes, it's a very cool effect.
