Me To You

Tags to share today for Christmas and inspired by Tracey McNeely's "25 Days of Christmas Tags".

The first Design Team I was on was for Tracey's "Tag You're It!" challenge.  I loved being on that team. These tags were inspired by Jessica Frost Ballas on Day 3.  I made mine very similar to hers.  For my tags I blended two shades of Distress Oxide Ink.  I splattered with some water, dabbed off the water with paper towels to create the splotches.  I then heat embossed the trees with Wow "Snow" embossing powder.  The crystals are from Studio Katia and the stamps are from Concord and Ninth.  I love the font of the sentiments.

Hello Butterfly

I always have fun making my watercolor cards for the Happy Little Stampers challenge.  Septembers optional theme is Butterflies (which I love).  I used dies from Concord and 9th to cut out the flower and butterfly from white cardstock.  I coated them with embossing ink by pressing the pad onto the diecuts.  I then heat embossed them with a chunky gold and glitter embossing powder from Wow.  For the colorful background I worked with layers of color.  I spritzed a piece of watercolor paper with water then sprinkled on turquoise Brusho powder.  I moved the color around by tilting the color,  taking some away with a paper towel or adding water or more color as needed.  When I was happy I used my heat gun to dry the turquoise layer then did the crimson layer.  I kept adding color this way until I liked the result.  The paper was very warped so I put it under some heavy flat objects overnight.  The next day I diecut the watercolored layer with a stitched rectangle die which also helped smooth it out.  I adhered a piece of fun foam behind the watercorlored layer for some dimension.

Life is Better With You

Hello!  I love trying different techniques for card making, this was a fun one from Lydia Fielder for Splitcoast Stampers.  I used Brusho powders sprinkled on plastic wrap to create the background.

I sprinkled three different colors of the watercolor powders on the plastic wrap, spritzed them with water then put my watercolor cardstock on top.  I wrapped the plastic wrap around the cardstock, flipped it over and adjusted the wrap so it would be more wrinkly.  I let the piece dry for several hours then removed the wrap and let it dry overnight.  I embossed the sentiment and adhered the diecut birds to the card(stamp and die from Concord & 9th).  To finish off the card I added some Nuvo Drops and some dimensional foam tape under the bird wings.

For You

Just got some Deco Foil transfer Gel and tried it out today, really fun stuff.  I applied the Deco Gel to card stock through a stencil.  I let the gel dry for a couple hours then ran the card stock through a laminator with foil.  The gold foil really shines.  For the flowers I applied Distress ink in three shades to bristol paper then diecut using the flower dies from Concord and 9th (Floral & Flutter).  The sentiment is also two stamps from Concord and 9th (Lily).

I was inspired to make this card by 2 challenges; Where Creativity Meets C9 and Inspired by All the Little Things.

Love Bookmark

Hello.  I made this bookmark using a water color technique shared by Krisina Werner a few weeks ago.  Kristina Werner used water color paints to make a dip dyed look.  I used the same paints (Gansai Tambai) and colors as Kristina for my bookmark.  Once the water coloring was dry I embossed the sentiment and hearts (Concord and Ninth) with platinum colored embossing powder (Ranger).  The bookmark was a bit warped and I wanted it sturdier so I adhered the water colored piece to a piece of purple card stock.  I am joining the February challenge at Where Creativity Meets C9.

Deck the Halls

I missed the small break in the clouds this afternoon so my picture is dark but I wanted to share my card at Where Creativity Meets C9 before the challenge closes.

My Dad requested I make him some Christmas cards.  This was a challenge to me because I usually invest a lot of time into making one card and I needed to come up with a card design that was easy to make several cards of.  I spent some time figuring out what to make but once I got the design I could easily replicate and my Dad liked  and with the help of my Misti making this card is fairly quick.  I used Concord and 9 th's stamp set "O Christmas Tree" for this card.   I added Nuvo glitter to the card by using a glue pen and adding dots to the trees and score tape along the top and bottom.  Shine was added using gold embossing on the sentiment and stars.  The use of dies for the background added interest and also helped make this card quick.  I am sharing this card at the Simon Say's Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Christmas to Die For".

Sparkly Gold and Water Color Christmas Card

Hi!  Sharing a card for the Where Creativity Meets C9 challenge.  I diecut some water color paper than gold embossed the stamped images.  For the circles I stamped the image twice rotating the paper in between stampings.  I than sprinkled on Brusho powder and spritzed with water to activate the color.  When the water color was dry I added some rings of gold Stickles to the embossed circles and some dots of Stickles and sequins.  I took a online course from May Flaum awhile ago and in one of her lessons she shares her technique using a circle stamp around the same time Concord and 9th came out with the stamp set with the circle image, I think this was my first stamp set from them.
Concord and 9th stamps used: Love You. Mean It. and O Christmas Tree
Dies: Mama Elephant

Fall Pine Cones Greeting Card

Fall has arrived, I'm hoping that means cooler weather here soon.  With the hot weather we have been having I have to remind myself that Canadian Thanksgiving is in a few short weeks and I need to make cards to send family.  Since there are so many great fall stamps sets its easy to get into the fall card making mode.  This new set from Concord & 9th and Simon Says Stamp from the Simon Says Stamp Stamptember event caught my eye as being very versatile.  I used water color card stock and Distress Ink to make this card.  I recorded myself making it if you would like to watch and see how.

I am sharing this card at Where Creativity Meets C9, the  theme is"Celebration". Thanksgiving to me is a celebration of family and gratitude.  I am also joining the 4 Crafty Chicks challenge, "Colors of Fall".

Bear Hugs

Hi!  Stopping in today with a card I made with Concord & 9th stamps; I like using their products as they are versatile, artsy and have fantastic sentiments.  I stamped and embossed the images on water color cardstock.  The bear is nice and large making it fun to water color.  To add color I water colored with Zig Real Brush markers.   When designing my card I wanted to keep it easy to mail so I kept the dimension fairly flat and just popped up the stamped piece with dimensional foam.
I created this card to apply for the new Concord & 9th Challenge Design Team, a very exciting opportunity!
Stamps Used:  Concord & 9th "Hugs" and "Love You.  Mean it."

Tag You're It! #49

Hello.  The card I am posting today was inspired by my team mates, Anja Curvers, beautiful card for the Tag You're It! challenge.

I used stamps from Concord & 9th's set "Hugs Stamp Set".  I stamped the sentiment from the set, "Consider yourself Freshly Squeezed" on the inside.  I colored the oranges with Copic Markers than made them glisten with a Spectrum Noir glitter pen.  I fussy cut the oranges and adhered them to a tag I added color to using water and Distress Ink.

Never Too Much Happy

Crazy week here with the wild storm early Monday and the terrible flooding.  We thankfully stayed dry but my children's school has been closed for three days now as many staff were affected by the flooding.  I have been piecing together this card over the last few days,  When I could steal a moment away in my craft room I would work on a part of it until I was able to assemble it.  The background I made using glitter embossing paste and a stencil.  I sponged two shades of distress ink on the diecut tag.  I sponged more distress ink on a scrap of card stock then die cut the beautiful butterfly (from Concord and 9th) and brushed on Pearl Ex.
I cased the current inspiration from my team mate, Carol Mayne, at the Tag You're It! challenge.

It would be fantastic if you can join in Tag You're It!  Challenge #45.

Adore You

Hello, sharing a valentines card today.  I made this card using the sketch from the Fusion Challenge.

I diecut water color card stock in the circle shape than stamped it with a scribbly circle stamp several times.  I stamped and embossed the sentiment before adding some water color.  When the water color was dry I stamped the small images and added some gold glitter Stickles.  I diecut the coral  hearts using my Silhouette Cameo than added some clear glitter using a Jelly Roll pen and some glossy accents to the hearts.

Some of the Supplies I used:
Stamps: Concord and Ninth "Love You. Mean It."
Inks: Hero Arts, Stampin' Up and Versamark
Cardstock: Canson and Stampin' Up

Thanks for coming by for a look.
