Playing in Mud

Some fantastic challenges going on right now.  I created this card for a couple of challenges and because my card stash is lacking in get well cards.  I stamped the piggy with archival ink on water color cardstock than painted it with Zig water color markers.  When the piggy was dry I covered it with masking frisket before smooshing the piece in distress ink and water.  I dried the piece with my heat gun and applied a few layers of distress ink to get the muddy look I wanted.  When the piece was dry I used my sewing machine to attach the sentiment (I stamped and embossed the sentiment on velum).  The whole piece is mounted to the card using fun foam for some dimension.
I am joining in the NBUS challenge #5.  This was my first time using the "Whole Herd" stamp set from My Favorite Things, and I also used my  Fine Line Frisket for the first time.  I'm also linking this up to two challenges with My Favorite Things, the You Could be a Card Design Superstar  and the Wednesday Sketch Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by

  5. Oh, Kelly, what a happy card! In fact, where I grew up in Iowa, pigs were known to be very happy so there was an expression that went, "I'm as happy as a pig in ____!", er mud! I got such a giggle out of your clever card, which I really needed, so thank you for that! Thank you, too, for playing in my NBUS Challenge #5! Because I'm helping in my husband's recovery, I'm terribly late in commenting. Thank you for understanding! Enjoy your day!! Hugs, Darnell
