Puffy Stars

Hello!  I'm excited to continue with A Blog Named Hero as part of the Facebook Design Team!  Today I'm sharing a card for inspiration for the current challenge.  I have a three year old daughter who loves sparkly unicorns and a thirteen year old daughter who showed me holographic makeup.  These trends and my daughters inspired the design of my card.

I used several products on this card from Hero Arts that I love, but my favorite is the Star Confetti Fancy Die.  I have used this die many times to create fantastic backgrounds.  For this card I used it to create a iridescent puffy star background.  To do this I used a silicone mat in my Big Shot machine.  The silicone mat is designed to emboss with a die rather than cut with is.

I ran the iridescent paper through to create puffy stars.  I then diecut the stars from a piece of black cardstock to lay over top.  I colored the unicorn using pencil crayons, fussy cut it and added some glitter using Wink of Stella.  Another favorite product of mine is Hero Arts white embossing powder which I used to heat emboss the sentiment.  I also love the stamp and cut sentiment sets.  The word wonderful I diecut from pink and turquoise cardstock to make three layers and adhered an iridescent one on top.  By adhering several layerls of a diecut together it makes it thicker and gives it the look of a chipboard embellishment.  Using different colors of cardstock layered together looks colorful and fun from the side.

Thank you for stopping by to see my card.  I look forward to seeing your projects linked up to this months challenge at A Blog Named Hero.
