Out Of This World

Hello!  Today I'm excited to be sharing my card today as a member of the Chibitronics Design Team for our collaboration with Lawn Fawn.
I made this card for my sons Birthday.  Sometimes I struggle making cards for my sons who are getting too old for cute cards but still are preteens.  The Chibitronics were a cool way to make my 8 year old an interactive card.  I created the card front before working on my Chibi lights layout. My first step in card making is to make a rough sketch of my card  to see if  my ideas will work and help me with my card design.  For my background I did the watercolour galaxy technique.  Once dry I used the Lawn Fawn stars die to cut out the stars (Lawn Fawn Dies Starry Skies).  I stamped and watercoloured the planets and rocket ship (Lawn Fawn stamp set Out Of This World) then fussy cut them and adhered them to the background.  For the stars I used a Copic marker to colour a piece of velum yellow then adhered it to the back of the watercolor piece.  Once the front was ready I could put together my light circuit.  I made my circuit on graph paper that is thin so I can place it on top of the card front and see through it to mark where I want to place my lights.

I made a pull tab over the battery, to activate the card and complete the circuit my son needed to pull the black strip of cardstock.  I adhered the circuit to my card front using dimensional foam tape.

There is a $30 Lawn Fawn gift card and a Chibitronics starter kit (valued at $30) that will be given away randomly to two winners drawn from comments across all days and all blogs so the more you visit and comment, the better your chances to win!  Please leave comments before 11:59 PM EST Sunday, May 28th to be eligible to win.
