Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

January inspirationThe monthly blog hop photo for Papertrey Ink is vibrant and inspiring.  It made me think of the "Black Magic" technique Kelly Latevola shared in one of her Caseing Genius posts.

I stamped the flowers and leaves on black card stock using white pigment ink.  I than colored with Prismacolor pencil crayons starting with light layers on the white stamped images.  I blended with white pencil in between layers and for the last layer I applied heavy pressure with the lightest color.  I die cut the "happy" from fun foam but found it too large and it was stealing too much of the show from the background.  I used a technique learned from Jennifer McGuire to shrink fun foam with my heat gun.

Some of my supplies used:
Stamps and Die: Papertrey Ink "One Big Happy"
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink, Stampin' Up
Others: Sequins Pretty Pink Posh, Pencils Prismacolor

Thanks for looking.
