Hello everyone. Joining a fun challenge at Kelly Latevola's blog. I really enjoy her CASEing Genius blog posts and was excited to see she is celebrating her one year anniversary with a challenge. The challenge is to CASE one of the crafting Genius's Kelly Latevola featured on her blog over the past year. I choose to CASE Kara Lynne's work. I admire Kara Lynn's style, card design and coloring. This is the beautiful watercolored card I choose to case (you can find her blog post here http://karalynnecards.blogspot.com/2015/04/smiles-and-wishes.html).
For My card I embossed flowers from Altenew's stamp set "Hennah Elements" in gold than used Brusho powders to add color. Kara Lynne used twinkling H2Os on her card, I too wanted to add some shimmer to my card so I added some Pearl Ex to the water I used for the flowers. I painted the Pearl Ex mixed with water onto the centers of the flowers than sprinkled with lime green brusho. When the centers dried I painted the petals with the Pearl Ex mixed with water than sprinkled on cobalt blue Brusho, I helped spread the colors a bit to fill in the petals with my paintbrush.
I diecut the sentiment from a piece of water colored card stock I had painted with Brusho for another project. I diecut the sentiment (Simon Says Stamp) several times from white card stock gluing together the layers to add some dimension.
Another part of Kelly Latevola's challenge is to nominate a Genius crafter, I nominate Tracey McNeely.
I am also linking this up to the Simon Says Stamp challenge "Anything Goes"

Thanks for coming by for a look.

Kelly, I am just so honored that you would choose to CASE my card! Your gold embossed blooms are gorgeous! I love your coloring technique using Pearl Ex water and Brusho. The added touch of gold on the sentiment's "i"s is such a fantastic detail! Thanks again, you've made my day!
