Hippo Birthday

I need to add some children's Birthday cards to my card stash.  I also wanted to play along with this weeks Muse challenge.  The current inspiration photo is of a pretty card by Laurie Wilson.

I drew inspiration from her card layout,  how she used texture embossing in the green panel and tone on tone back ground on the yellow piece.  The dry embossing I added to the navy panel is very subtle and did not photo graph well.  I used water colour pencils on the hippo and bird image (Avery Elle stamps).
