Monkey Carried Away

I liked this weeks layout on the Retro Sketch challenge blog a lot so I used it again today.  

You can find the retro sketches challenge here; http://retrosketches.blogspot.com/.  I also was up for the challenge on the Paper Smooches blog; http://papersmooches.blogspot.com/.  The PaperSmooches blog challenged us to use a heart on our card.  I didn't want to make another valentines card but I can always use more Birthday cards so this is what I came up with today.

I sponged the clouds on a teal panel for the background, colored the monkey image (Paper Smooches set "Smocheroos") with copics and fussy cut it out, quilled the balloons and white embossed the sentiment (Paper Smooches "Birthday Sampler").  To add more interest I used enamel accents on the monkey's eyes and glossy accents to the heart by the sentiment.  Well enough break time back to laundry.
