Thanks Friend Tag

The inspiration this time for Tag You're It!  Is a pretty vintage looking photo.

I have not used buttons in my card making for too long.  The backing for the buttons in the photo inspired the design of my tag.  I masked the images to layer them and heat embossed them in white.  The whimsical images are from a stamp set by Papersmooches.  I colored the tag using pencil crayons. I found a soft yellow button in my stash for the center of the flower. To finish it off I used some white Nuvo Drops.

I hope you are inspired to make a tag and share it with us at Tag You're It!

Hello Flamingo Tag

Hello!  I'm a bit late joining the current challenge at Tag You're It!  Life was crazy this past week with back to school and Birthdays.

Fun and colorful inspiration photo for this challenge.  I used Nuvo Pearl powders on watercolor paper to make the background.  I sprinkled several colors of powder on the paper and spritzed with water.  After it dried I die cut the tag, this helped flatten the warping the water caused in the paper.  On a separate piece of card stock I stamped and colored the bird (Hello Bluebird Stamps) with Copic markers.  I stamped the bird on the tag.  I fussy cut the bird except for it's legs then adhered it on top of the stamped image on the tag.

Thanks for stopping by I look forward to seeing your work at Tag You're It!

Slow Down Shaker

The New Challenge at Tag You're It! is a fun one.

I decided to make a shaker card. I decided to make the tag a focal point on a masculine card.  For the tag I used dies from My Favorite things because they make a cute circular tag that easily can be made into a shaker.
I stamped the images from Flora and Fauna then heat embossed them.  Next I colored the images with pencil crayons.  Then for the background I smooshed the cardstock cut to A2 size in Distress ink spritzed with water on my craft mat.

The water droplet embellishments from Studio Katia finished off the card.

I hope you are inspired to share an interactive tag for Challenge #90.

Hello There Tag

Hey there!  Here with my tag for Challenge #88 , "Spring Flowers", at Tag You're It!

I stamped the images from Hero Arts on watercolor cardstock.  To add color to the images I used watercolor paints.  Once dry I fussy cut the images.  The tag was diecut from smooth bristol using a tag die from Reverse Confetti.

I added green Distress ink with a blending tool and splattered some black ink on the tag.  I adhered the fussy cut images using foam tape behind a couple of the pink flowers.  I finished off the tag with the sentiment and some gold glitter Nuvo drops.

I hope you share your work at the current challenge.

Just For You Tag

Time for a new Tag You're It! Challenge.   Selective Coloring is the theme.

I used a tag die for the area to color.  I started by heat embossing a background image from Hero Arts on a piece of watercolor paper.  I used Wow! embossing powder in "Zeuss", its a purple embossing powder with gold sparkle.  I diecut a tag shape from the embossed paper.  I used watercolors to color the tag.

I adhered it all together to a piece of black card stock for a contrasting layer.

I hope you join this fun challenge.

Bit of Irish Luck

Hi time for Challenge #82 at Tag You're It!  Its a fun theme and I was excited to use some Papertrey Ink stamps I bought last year and hadn't opened yet!

I used my MISTI Stamp Tool to stamp the shamrock with mint green then used a sponge dauber to add a darker green to the edges of the shamrock and stamped it again.  I stamped the shamrock a third time with embossing ink and embossed it with clear.

Thanks for coming by, I hope you join the challenge.

Cutie Tag

I'm excited today to be able to share with you that Tag You're It! Challenge is back with challenge #80!  Tracey McNeely was able to organize the challenge again and I am very glad to be back on the Design Team.

The theme for this challenge is:

I diecut my tag using a Studio Katia die from bristol paper (my favorite for blending inks).  I blended two shades of Distress Oxide for the background.  I used Lawn Fawn stamps and dies for the rest of the elements on the tag.  The little skunk was stamped on paper for coloring with pastels.  I used my stamp positioner to stamp the skunk, when I finished coloring it with pencils I stamped over it again to make the lines of the image crisp.  I fussy cut the image then adhered it to a piece of black fun foam and fussy cut again.

This tag will be perfect for one of my kids for valentine's day.  I hope you are inspired to join the challenge at Tag You're It!

Pink Christmas Tag

Hello time for a new challenge at Tag You're It!  The inspiration for challenge #78 is a lovely tag from Jessica Frost Ballas.

I Love her golden deer.  I was inspired by the shape of her tag and the colours.  I used My Favorite Things dies and stamps for my tag.  I die-cut a tag from pink card-stock and blended pink distress ink on it.  The set of dies I used from My Favorite things are great for making shaker tags.  I embossed the snowflakes on the tag using a sparkle white embossing powder from Wow.  I used sequins from Lucy's Little Things for the shaker.  I watercoloured the deer and adhered it to the front.  The sentiment is die-cut from self adhesive gold paper.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you are inspired to play along with Tag You're It!.

Pumpkin Thanks Tag

Hello!  It is great to be back at Tag You're It! Challenge after having the summer off.  Our inspiration for challenge #74 is a fun tag from our Featured Artist,  Bev Buenker.

The elements of Bev's fantastic tag that inspired me where the stripes, the black and white with pops of color and the 3 flowers.

How I made my tag:
1.  Die cut a tag from white card stock (die from Papertrey Ink)
2.  I placed my tag on a ruled craft mat, lining the top up with a line on the mat then placed a post it note on the top of the tag to mask it off, the craft mat helped me place the post it straight.
3.  Stamped the stripes with a background stamp (Impression Obsession stamp and Versafine Ink) embossed with a clear glitter (WOW Neutral Glitter)
4.  Stamped pumpkins on a piece of card stock (stamps from Lawn Fawn)  colored with Copic markers and fussy cut.
5  Adhered pumpkins to tag.  Stamped vine for large pumpkin on tag.
6.  Stamped and embossed sentiment.

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you are inspired to join challenge #74 at Tag You're It!

Mr. & Mrs. Tag

I was doing some reorganizing in my craft room and found an older Stampin' Up stamp set that made me think of the current Tag You're It!  Challenge inspiration.

Lindsey Larsen is our featured artist and the inspiration she provided us is so lovely.  My Mom is very creative, I enjoy talking to her about projects, when she saw Lindsey's tag she said it made her think of weddings.  I too felt the colours Lindsey used and the white floral diecut would be perfect for a wedding theme.

For my tag I stamped and embossed the cake image on a tag diecut from bristol paper.  I watercolored the image using a Zig marker.  I added a bit of glitter to the flowers using a Spectrum Noir glitter pen.  All the dies I used for this tag are from Waffle Flower, stamps used are retired from Stampin' Up.

Thank you for coming by, I hope you are inspired to make a tag and share it with us at Tag You're It!

Red Tulips Tag

Hello!  This is my card for the Tag You're It! Challenge.

When I saw this months lovely tag made by Lindsey M-P I immediately thought of my Grandma.  My Grandma's favorite flowers are tulips and she loves red.  I love that when I make cards I can personalize them for the recipient.  For my card I stamped the tulip image (from Wplus9) in a light pink shade of Distress Ink on watercolor card stock.  I painted the stamped image using Peerless Water Colours.  I painted the flower in areas that were not adjacent to a wet area, for example I would paint a petal then the next petal to paint would be on the other flower.  If the wet paint touches more wet paint they will bleed together and the no line water coloring would loose its definition, it wouldn't work.  If I painted a petal next to one that was wet the paint would spread together and it would look like a blob or if the green of the stem touched still wet red paint of the flowers the colors would mix.  Once the image was dry I die cut the tag shape and adhered fun foam to create dimension.  I coated the die cut sentiment with Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents.

Thanks for looking, I hope you play along with the Tag You're It! Challenge.

Surprise Tag

Hello!  For Tag You're It! Challenge #70 we are inspired by a adorable tag from Kim Heggins.

I was inspired by the bear stamp from My Favorite Things that Kim used .  I used another bear from My Favorite Things but went with a Birthday theme.  I made a one layered tag and colored the image with Copic Markers.  I sponged Pistachio Distress Oxide Ink on the bottom and used a white gel pen to add some details.  Thank you for stopping by, I hope you join challenge #70 at Tag You're It!

Tag You're it- Sending You Love and Hugs

Hello.  I made this tag for the Tag You're It! Challenge #68.  The inspiration for challenge #68 is a fun tag from Gayatri Murali.

To create a brick background I sponged grey ink on an embossing folder and ran my tag through my Big Shot.  I stamped the dog (Mama Elephant Stamps) on Bristol cardstock and colored it using Zig Real Brush Markers blending the colors with water.  After the colouring was dry I fussy cut the little dog and adhered it to the tag. Since the surface of the tag has texture I used a liquid glue to adhere the dog image than set a heavy flat object on it to let it dry flat. The little hearts are diecuts coated in glossy accents.  The diecut and stamped sentiment are from Simon Says stamp.
Thanks for coming by for a look.  I hope to see you join challenge #68 and please explain how the challenge inspired your entry.
